Change and Anxiety

We are constantly changing and evolving. It is inevitable, sadly we often get caught up in the moment and feel stuck and forget that change is in our future. When we feel overwhelmed, stressed or unhappy with our lives we tend to tell ourselves that things are constant, and it will always be this way. The only thing constant is change itself. We tell ourselves statements like, “I will never find another job” or “this will never change” but in fact this is our mind playing tricks on us because if we reflect and think about it, we know that this is simply not logical or realistic. When I reflect, I know that I am not the same person I was a year ago, 5 years ago or 10 years ago. My skills, knowledge, emotional growth, and life has changed dramatically. I have simply changed and evolved. To tell you the truth I did not even come close to imagining that I would be where I am today.

We do not know what will happen in the future, but we do know that if we continue to try to look for the open doors, take the opportunity to walk through those doors and belief in ourselves we will see the opportunities that arise. The quote when one door closes another door opens has truth to it. We do not need to get caught up in the idea that things will be the same in the future. Life is about ebbing and flowing. We all have good and not so good days this is apart of living. However, we can make a choice to look at life changes as the opportunity to direct our future towards the life we want to create. Our failures can lead to growth if we have the courage to believe in ourselves and motivation to take the next step.
